STUDENT INFORMATION


The French Club will meet in room 104 TODAY after school to make food. BE THERE!

The junior class needs workers for the concession stand for the boys' basketball game Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th. Sign up in Mr. Higgins' room, room 201. All popcorn workers need to be at the Fieldhouse at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there at 5:30.
Also TODAY there is a make-up game....CONCESSION WORKERS AND SWEEPERS ARE NEEDED!!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS.....Attend the 7th session, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, which will take place TODAY during I.E./Advisory. This session will focus on "Know the Basics - Interviewing Skills." The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you have ordered your Class of 2014 Senior shirt then we need you to provide your signature so they can be printed on the back of the shirts. Please stop by the office TODAY or next week and see Kassie so we can get your signature and have the shirts printed. If you did not order a Class of 2014 Senior shirt and would still like to do so, order forms are available in the main office. OVISCO plans to have our shirts ready towards the end of this month. GET YOUR SIGNATURES IN AND ORDER NOW!!

IFlirtz have been passed out to advisory rooms and will be picked up on Wednesday, so fill yours out!!  Early release or tri-star students need to stop by their advisory rooms to fill theirs out by Wednesday.  You must fill them out in your advisory room.  You may not take them home.

ATTENTION SCHOLASTIC TEAM....The sign-up sheet for Saturday's tourney at Van Wert is on the bulletin board in Mr. Hoover's room. Please stop by and sign it if you are wishing to compete.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  AAA School Safety Patrol Grant Award Program
This program is open to high school seniors who once served as a member of a AAA School Safety Patrol team.
Due to numerous school delays and closings in the past month, the AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant deadline has been extended.  Materials must now be postmarked by Tuesday, March 4th.


Congratulations to all Celina Band Members who participated in the OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest held this past weekend at St. Marys Memorial High School. All of our participating students earned either an excellent or superior rating (the two highest possible ratings). Those earning a rating of "EXCELLENT" were: Reagan Moege, Derek Arata, Libby Suhr, the concert Band Flute Trio, Sam Stroth, Aden Gariety, Nicole Bowsher, Caleb Steinke, the Symphonic Band Clarinet Trio, and Sarah Plattner. Earning the highest rating of "SUPERIOR" were Roman Mitchell, Hannah Stroth, the Celina Symphonic Percussion Ensemble, Beth Garwood, Derek Arata, Chris Cowdery, Blaze Andrew, the Symphonic Flute Trio, Hannah Glass, the Concert Percussion Ensemble, and Grace Seals.

Congratulations to this year's MOCK TRIAL TEAM!! Despite a strong showing, the team was eliminated this past Friday at Findlay's district competition. However, a special congratulations goes out to Nathan Higgins and Camille Smith who won OUTSTANDING ATTORNEY in each of their rounds. Congrats to all involved!! :)

LISTEN UP: The annual Children's Hospital toy drive is now in full swing and spots for the trip are filling up fast. If you would like to join see Mrs. Ball or Mrs. Kramer for a permission slip. Our goal this year is to collect 1500 brand new toys for kids in Dayton Children's - if you can help us meet our goal please drop your toys off in room 212.

REMINDER TO ALL SENIORS.....the series of 8 programs, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, will begin TODAY from 1:35 - 2:20 with Christy Shell of Zeal Coaching. Her first topic is "This is your Life: Taking Your Dream to Reality." All seniors are required to be at the first session which will take place in the Lecture Hall. Seniors can register for all other intriguing sessions in the Guidance Office. The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

General Student Council meetings will continue to meet on Wednesdays during I/E in the Lecture Hall.  Council members be sure to be there TOMORROW!!

CHS Students for Life will meet TOMORROW after school in Mr. Andrew's room. Everyone is welcome to attend!!

FRENCH CLUB MEETING after school TODAY in room 202.

Mr. Ellinger's class from first trimester may pick up their 3-ring binders anytime this week. After that, they will be given away or tossed out!!

AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK is celebrated this week.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO OUR TEACHERS, BUS DRIVERS, EDUCATIONAL AIDES, PRINCIPAL, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, ATTENDANCE OFFICER, CAFETERIA WORKERS, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, COACHES, COUNSELORS, SECRETARIES, NURSES, MEDIA SPECIALIST, SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS, AND VOLUNTEERS. These people CARE about the students at Celina High School and strive to help each one succeed!!

TIME TO SIGN UP in the office FOR THE BLOOD DRIVE, which will take place on Thursday, December 19th.  Come to donate and receive a t-shirt!!

SPORTS/ATHLETICS


 
Are you someone who is energetic, who has good sportsmanship and school spirit???  Do you like to jump around and give high fives????  YOU could be our next Spike!!!
We are looking for a Bulldog Mascot for this basketball season.  You must not be a participant in any other Winter sports because as the mascot, you will earn a Varsity letter.  Males and females are welcome and tumbling is not required.  If you have any questions, see Miss Brunswick.  All students interested should write their name on the sign-up sheet in the office.
 
ALL BOYS who are planning to play tennis this Spring must attend the meeting TOMORROW at 2:25 p.m. in the cafeteria. If you cannot attend, you must see Coach Hainline before the meeting.
 
Anyone planning on running OUTDOOR TRACK in the Spring, needs to attend the brief meeting TOMORROW morning at 7:15 in the Lecture Hall.

Also those planning on running INDOOR TRACK, will have a brief meeting TOMORROW afternoon at 2:30 in the CAPT building.

Student Computer Accounts are listed outside the Library/Media Center. It is a list of students whose accounts will be turned off at the end of the week if student forms are not turned in. See Mrs. Baltzell!!

Purchase your Once Upon a Wolf ticket here in the front office.  The show will be playing on November 8th, 9th and 10th.  You don't want to miss it!! 

The lunch menu for WEDNESDAY is a creamed chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes, fruit and milk.

GUIDANCE
 
The Army will have a representative here at lunch time TODAY!!



SPORTS/ATHLETICS
TOMORROW, October 30th during I/E period, there will be a meeting for all students interested in WRESTLING. The meeting will take place in the gym.

The Swim and Dive Informational Meeting will be TODAY from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at the Middle School Cafeteria.
 
Presale tickets for Volleyball will be available in the Athletic Office TODAY, TOMORROW,  and Thursday of this week from 7:00 am - 2:30 pm. Presale tickets are $6.00 and tickets sold at the door will be $8.00.

All Freshmen Boys playing basketball need to report to Stage East at the beginning of I/E TODAY!  The schedule will be set up for basketball practices!!

STUDENT INFORMATION
 
The Book Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th during I/E period in the Media Center.   Please stop in NOW and talk to Mrs. Baltzell if you plan to join.  The club meets every Tuesday and students are required to read one book a month;  then they meet and discuss it during I/E.
Mrs. Baltzell has another NOOK available for checkout.  See her if you are interested!!
 
If you are planning on taking a non-Celina student to the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 5th, you must fill out a visitor form.  They are located in the office. 
 
During lunch, students need to go to the office to receive their new USERNAME and PASSWORD for Progress Book, if you haven't already!!
 
There will be a French Club meeting in room 202 TODAY after school!!
 
The Stratford Trip has seats available for this year's trip on October 9, 10, and 11. There are just a couple of days left to sign up. See Mr. Smith in room 214 for sign-up sheets and information.

Is your Car Winter Ready???? On Thursday, September 12th from 10:55 am to 1:00 pm AAA certified technicians will inspect cars free of charge in the student parking lot. After the inspection is complete, all participants receive a FREE LUNCH, compliments of AAA.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for sophomores and juniors to be a friend for an area elementary student. The program meets once a week for group activities, snacks, games and LOTS of fun!
Applications are available in the Guidance office.
 
The Navy will have a representative in the cafeteria hallway during lunch TOMORROW!!

Pre-sale tickets will be sold every Thursday and Friday in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 s.m. - 2:45 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the gate.

Reserved seats are still available at $30.00 each and student general admission season passes are available for $17.50 each for the five home games.
 

Celina Varsity Volleyball lost in four sets last night against Marion Local....
17-25, 25-23, 16-25, and 21-25.
Girls played very well despite the loss.  Stats can be found on Maxpreps if interested.
Celina JV lost in three sets.

Varsity won 3-0

JV defeated Miami East 7-0

If you want ta club to join that involves photography, graphics, socialization and fun, then it is for you!!
First meeting is during I/E period TODAY in room 104 (Mrs. Langmeyer's room).

During lunch, students need to go to the office to receive their new USERNAME and PASSWORD for Progress Book, if you haven't already!!
 
The Stratford Trip has seats available for this year's trip on October 9, 10, and 11. There are just a couple of days left to sign up.  See Mr. Smith in room 214 for sign-up sheets and information.

The C.H.S. Autumn Theatre auditions for Once Upon a Wolf, are TONIGHT from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Celina Ed. Complex. These auditions are closed- just bring yourself! There is no singing required. This is a wonderful comedy, and we need a large cast of zany characters! Once you have auditioned you are permitted to leave. Hope to see you TONIGHT!!! A Representative from Ohio State University Columbus and Lima, will give a presentation TOMORROW during I/E period. Any Junior or Senior that would like to attend the presentation will need to sign up in the Guidance office. Sign up no later than third period on the day of the presentation.
Do not go to I/E PERIOD that day!! Report directly to the Media Center. Attendance will be taken there.

FRIDAY IS FTA DONUT DAY!!!  :)

There is a MANDATORY ReQuest Meeting next Tuesday after school in room 119.  Find transportation so you can be there!!

IF YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF SERVICE LEARNING DAY, YOUR T-SHIRT AND PERMISSION FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE BY 7:20 A.M. TOMORROW MORNING!!

French club t-shirts have arrived.  Stop by room 202 today after school to pick them up.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT:
Sign up for Prom Tables April 2nd - April 12th in room 115.  Also Prom tickets can be picked up between April 22nd -25th in room 115....cost will be determined by April 15th.
