The FCCLA Socktober campaign has concluded and they collected and amazing 927 PAIRS!! Thanks to the numerous people who donated 25-80 pairs themselves!! The winner of the pizza party for their 2nd period class is Mr. Hoover’s class who donated 220 pairs. Mr. Alig’s class came a close second with only 25 pairs less.

The Voice of Democracy Program is open to student in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in a public, private, or parochial school or home study program in the US and its territories. The theme for 2015-2016 is “My Vision for America”
Entry forms are available in the Guidance Office – Entries for both contests must be hand delivered to VFW Post by Nov. 1, 2015.



ATTENTION JUNIORS:

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, the Guidance Dept. will present a session on “Helping Your Child Choose a College” All junior students and parents are invited to attend. The meeting will take place at 6:30 in the HS Lecture Hall. This date is a change from the original date of Nov. 4. Please make your parents aware of this meeting.


Today’s date is October 27th. The Early Action deadline for OSU is Nov. 1.  If you are applying EARLY ACTION to Ohio State you need to enter your counselor and teacher information on COMMON APP no later than THURSDAY, OCT. 29th. If you wait until the weekend to enter your information, your transcripts and counselor report will not be submitted by the deadline.

to stay warm during the cold months ahead. FCCLA is asking all students to donate one pair of NEW socks and bring them to your 2nd period class. The class who donates the most will be given a pizza party!!
If you don’t have socks…purchase puppy chow this week from Mrs. Langmeyer for a .75 cent donation!! Let’s start donating!

To save disruption in class, the attendance office requests WRITTEN notification of upcoming appointments. The note you provide will be sufficient in releasing your student out of class, and they will be able to sign themselves out.

Big Brothers Big Sisters 

Do you remember a special person who helped you as a child? Was there a person who was there for you as a friend and a mentor? Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for high school students to be a friend for an area elementary student. The biggest requirement to be part of this program is a desire to be a friend and to have FUN!! We are looking for students who can try to give a full year's commitment to a Little.

The programs meet once a week on different days at different locations in Auglaize, Mercer, and Van Wert Counties for group activities, snacks, games, and LOTS of fun!

To become involved or for more information, please pick up an application in the Guidance Office. Applications are due back to the Big Brothers Big Sisters office by September 11.

The Mercer County District Library in Celina is looking for Teen Advisory Board Members (TAB). Members will meet on the 3rd Thursday each month from Sept. – May, to help plan, organize, and promote events geared towards teens, as well as to help  contribute to the Young Adult collection at the library. TAB members will have opportunities to obtain community service hours by helping with programs and events.
