JUNIORS AND SENIORS.....SIGN UP IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE to attend the 4th session, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, which will take place on TOMORROW, December 17th during I.E./Advisory. This topic will focus on "Resumes Reflect You!" The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

Book Club will meet on TOMORROW, DECEMBER 17TH for a Christmas party, book discussion, and to get your new book.  See Mrs. Baltzell so we can plan the food you want.  Book Club meets in the Media Center during I/E period.

Starting TODAY, DECEMBER 16th, during lunch you can buy a yard of duct tape for $1.00 to tape one of your classmates up to a wall during the Christmas assembly.

The ANILEC is asking for all Seniors to begin turning in their baby pictures and senior pictures for use in this year's upcoming yearbook. Bring your baby pictures and senior pictures (with your name on it) to the office OR preferably upload the image(s) to hjeshare.com, code: celina. Also, 2012-2013 ANILECs are still available to those who would like to purchase one. Don't forget to order your 2013-14 ANILEC too!! PRICE GOES UP 1/1/14.

All Celina High School students are welcome to audition!!
Performances will be April 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all those cast December 19th 6:00 - 9:00.
Rehearsals are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Be prepared to list all possible conflicts!!

The lunch menu for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17TH is pasta bar, bread stick, carrots, applesauce, and milk OR a sub sandwich.

Pre-sale tickets for BOYS BASKETBALL will be sold every Thursday and Friday in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the door.

GUIDANCE

ACT REMINDERS FOR THOSE TAKING THE TEST TOMORROW....

1. Be sure to bring your picture ID and admission ticket. The admission ticket MUST have your picture on it!! You cannot test without these items.

2. Don't forget a calculator and several #2 pencils.

3. In case the weather gets bad and we need to cancel, listen to WCSM or WKKI. We will only cancel if the weather is extremely bad, so be sure to DRIVE SAFELY and leave yourself enough time so that you don't have to rush and drive like a maniac!!

4. Get a good night’s rest!! See you tomorrow!

There is a new Christmas showcase outside the Media center built by Business Professionals of America and our very own student, Sabrina Smith.  The themes are the 100 Most Influential Toys from 1923 to Present and toys that define our childhood.

Football fanatics:  do we have the best high school football fans in the surrounding area?  Better believe we do!!  Well, let's prove it!!  Stolly Insurance Group is conducting a Facebook contest in search of "The Best Fans in the Land" (visit Facebook.com/StollyInsurance for more detail).  Communities in the surrounding counties will send pictures of their fans (both students and adults) showing support for their team to Stolly's Facebook page.  Those pictures will form a 'team album';  the album with the most votes wins!!  Our guys work hard to represent us well on the field, so let's return the favor and win this contest for them.  If you have questions or a photo you would like to share, please see Mrs. Ball in room 212 - the winners will receive free pizza!  In the famous words of Kelly Black..."Let's Do This!!!"
GUIDANCE

If you are NOT, in an English class this trimester, please stop by the Guidance office to receive information on the PSAT and college preparation.
 
Edison Community College in Piqua is offering an ACT PREP Course beginning on September 24th. Sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Stop in the guidance office for additional information.
 
Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for sophomores and juniors to be a friend for an area elementary student. The program meets once a week for group activities, snacks, games and LOTS of fun!
Applications are available in the Guidance office.

The following colleges/universities will have a representative at CHS during I/E period in September. You must sign up in the guidance office if you wish to attend the presentation.

A couple of opportunities for career exploration:

1.  Mercer Health will be sponsoring a series of presentations for students interested in going into ANY aspect of a health field.  Sessions will be held in the evenings, at Coldwater Hospital.  Topics will cover a wide range of career options including:  Obstetric and Intensive Care Nursing,  Social Services, Speech & Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Nutrition Services, Information Systems & Record Keeping, Pharmacy and MANY MORE.  If you are at all interested in a health related career, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about getting started.  Interested students will need to complete an application for the program.  Additional information and applications are available in the guidance office.

2.  Briarwood Nursing Home is accepting applications for the positions of "Hospitality Aide".  This position requires specialized training, which will be provided by Briarwood.  This could be the first step to pursuing a career in nursing, or a related health field, and more importantly, IT PAYS!!!  Interested students may apply in person at Briarwood Nursing Home in Coldwater.

Fall makeup/retake picture day is WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16th!!
 

Is your Car Winter Ready???? On Thursday, September 12th from 10:55 am to 1:00 pm AAA certified technicians will inspect cars free of charge in the student parking lot. After the inspection is complete, all participants receive a FREE LUNCH, compliments of AAA.

The Book Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th during I/E period in the Media Center.   Please stop in NOW and talk to Mrs. Baltzell if you plan to join.  The club meets every Tuesday and students are required to read one book a month;  then they meet and discuss it during I/E.

If you are planning on taking a non-Celina student to the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 5th, you must fill out a visitor form.  They are located in the office.

Celina Varsity Volleyball lost in four sets last night against Marion Local....
17-25, 25-23, 16-25, and 21-25.
Girls played very well despite the loss.  Stats can be found on Maxpreps if interested.
Celina JV lost in three sets.

There will be a Teenage Republican meeting TODAY in the CAFETERIA.  We will have a guest speaker and order T-shirts.  Make sure you attend!!

There will be a French Club meeting after school TOMORROW in room 202.

OPEN GYM till 5:00 TONIGHT at the Fieldhouse for those students and faculty interested in trying out their basketball legs .  Sign-up in Mr. Ellinger's room 301 for the annual FTA Student - Faculty game on April 2nd at 6:00 p.m.  Will any students step up to challenge the faculty this year??

'Junior - Senior Prom Guest' forms are in the office. 

Tickets are now on sale for this year's SPRING MUSICAL, Grease.  The performances are April 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, and 21st.  Stop by the office to pick up your ticket form TODAY!!

 There will be a Prom Committee meeting TOMORROW during ADVISORY in Mrs. Sutter's room.  They can pick up passes in room 115.

STUDENT INFORMATION

ATTENTION TEACHERS AND STUDENTS:  Join thousands of students in schools across Mercer County to participate in the 2013 Mercer Dads Father of the Year Essay Contest!  The contest officially began on MONDAY and all entries must be received by April 8, 2013.  For more information, see Kassie. 

There will be a Spirit Squad meeting after school TODAY.  They will be discussing ideas for next year and some fundraisers for spring.  Anyone and everyone is welcome in room 212.
