STUDENT INFORMATION

The Student - Faculty game sponsored by F.T.A. will be April 29th.  Sign-up in room 301 if you are interested in playing.

CHS Creative Writing Contest
Submit any original creative writing you have written in or out of class by Friday, February 28th.
All entries will be considered for entry into the prestigious ReQuest Magazine!!
Cash Prizes to 1st ($100), 2nd ($50), and 3rd ($25) place.
*Multiple entries may be made. Include submission form with each entry.

Student Council will be selling IFlirtz during lunch TODAY, FEBRUARY 26th.  The cost is $2 per IFlirt.

IT'S TIME STUDENTS...
Return your library book if you are finished.  Renew your library book if you want to keep it a little longer.  Avoid charges and get this done right away before the trimester ends.
 
The lunch menu for THURSDAY is pasta bar, bread stick, green beans, pears, and milk OR a grilled chicken sandwich.

The boys tennis team will be doing 'INSANITY' for conditioning  Thursday of this week in the cafeteria at 2:45. The conditioning will last approximately 45 minutes.

Cheer tryouts for next school year will be held on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12th and THURSDAY, MARCH 13th from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Field house;  also on FRIDAY, MARCH 14th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at CIS.  Please sign the sheet and take an information sheet which are both located in the office. See Miss Brunswick with any questions.

Pre-sale tickets for BOYS BASKETBALL will be sold WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY of this week in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the door.

There will be a pizza party for ALL girl basketball players TOMORROW, FEB. 27th at the K of C Hall at 4:00 p.m. Please plan on bringing all uniforms, shooting shirts, pants and reversibles (all WASHED) to the party.

This week our BOYS basketball team will be competing in the Sectional Tournament at Lima Senior High School. There are several policies enforced at ALL tournament contests:
  • It is the policy at all tournament games that balloons, banners, noisemakers and signs are not permitted.
  • Confetti or other similar items are not permitted.
  • Students are not permitted on the floor at any time, before, during or after the game, including introductions.
  • Spectators MUST WEAR SHIRTS AT ALL O.H.S.A.A. SPONSORED TOURNAMENTS
Students will be asked to NOT stand on the top of bleachers as this has caused considerable damage to many sites. Damage inflicted on facilities is charged to the competing schools.
We ask each student to respect the opponent, respect the host schools property and respect the officials and players involved in the game.
Your cooperation makes for a GREAT basketball tournament atmosphere.

Schedule change request forms will be available in the Guidance Office beginning on MONDAY, March 3rd.  All forms must be signed by a parent and returned by 9:00 a.m. on FRIDAY, March 7th.  SCHEDULES WILL NOT BE CHANGED THIS WEEK!!

Grand Lake Health Systems is accepting applications for Volunteers to work at Joint Township Hospital.  There are a variety of positions available such as helping in the Emergency Room, assisting nurses with patients, clerical work, and many more.  This is a great opportunity if you are interested in any area of health care.  Volunteer experience also looks great on resumes and scholarship applications.  Stop in the Guidance Office for an application.

There will be a Junior Class meeting for ALL JUNIORS during I/E period TODAY, FEBRUARY 25th in the Lecture Hall. All junior students who have early release are expected to be there!!

TODAY, FEBRUARY 21ST, is the due date for the last NYC payment. All accounts need to be paid in full to Mrs. Sutter or Miss Brunswick in the Art room in order to attend the trip.

I-Flirtz forms can be purchased for $2.00 during lunch TODAY, February 21st.

REMINDER:  High School 101 - an orientation for parents of incoming freshmen, will be Monday, February 24th from
6:00 - 8:30 pm at the Celina High School.

CARLIE HUNTER, a senior at Celina High School, has won a flat screen TV donated by the Celina Rotary Club.  CONGRATS CARLIE!!  :)

The FTA Student-Faculty Game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th in the Fieldhouse.  If you are a student interested in playing in this game, there is a sign-up sheet in Mr. Ellinger's room 301, along with a schedule of 'open gym' practices.  Will the students be able to avenge last year's humiliating loss?

Student Rotary winners that were scheduled to go to the Rotary luncheon, February 18th, will be rescheduled for March 18th at the same time. Mr. Stetler will be passing out information to you!!

The French Club will meet in room 104 TODAY after school to make food. BE THERE!

The junior class needs workers for the concession stand for the boys' basketball game Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th. Sign up in Mr. Higgins' room, room 201. All popcorn workers need to be at the Fieldhouse at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there at 5:30.
Also TODAY there is a make-up game....CONCESSION WORKERS AND SWEEPERS ARE NEEDED!!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS.....Attend the 7th session, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, which will take place TODAY during I.E./Advisory. This session will focus on "Know the Basics - Interviewing Skills." The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you have ordered your Class of 2014 Senior shirt then we need you to provide your signature so they can be printed on the back of the shirts. Please stop by the office TODAY or next week and see Kassie so we can get your signature and have the shirts printed. If you did not order a Class of 2014 Senior shirt and would still like to do so, order forms are available in the main office. OVISCO plans to have our shirts ready towards the end of this month. GET YOUR SIGNATURES IN AND ORDER NOW!!

IFlirtz have been passed out to advisory rooms and will be picked up on Wednesday, so fill yours out!!  Early release or tri-star students need to stop by their advisory rooms to fill theirs out by Wednesday.  You must fill them out in your advisory room.  You may not take them home.

ATTENTION SCHOLASTIC TEAM....The sign-up sheet for Saturday's tourney at Van Wert is on the bulletin board in Mr. Hoover's room. Please stop by and sign it if you are wishing to compete.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  AAA School Safety Patrol Grant Award Program
This program is open to high school seniors who once served as a member of a AAA School Safety Patrol team.
Due to numerous school delays and closings in the past month, the AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant deadline has been extended.  Materials must now be postmarked by Tuesday, March 4th.


Congratulations to all Celina Band Members who participated in the OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest held this past weekend at St. Marys Memorial High School. All of our participating students earned either an excellent or superior rating (the two highest possible ratings). Those earning a rating of "EXCELLENT" were: Reagan Moege, Derek Arata, Libby Suhr, the concert Band Flute Trio, Sam Stroth, Aden Gariety, Nicole Bowsher, Caleb Steinke, the Symphonic Band Clarinet Trio, and Sarah Plattner. Earning the highest rating of "SUPERIOR" were Roman Mitchell, Hannah Stroth, the Celina Symphonic Percussion Ensemble, Beth Garwood, Derek Arata, Chris Cowdery, Blaze Andrew, the Symphonic Flute Trio, Hannah Glass, the Concert Percussion Ensemble, and Grace Seals.

Congratulations to this year's MOCK TRIAL TEAM!! Despite a strong showing, the team was eliminated this past Friday at Findlay's district competition. However, a special congratulations goes out to Nathan Higgins and Camille Smith who won OUTSTANDING ATTORNEY in each of their rounds. Congrats to all involved!! :)
