9.5.13 ANNOUNCEMENTS

STUDENT INFORMATION
 
Fall makeup/retake picture day is WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16th!!
 

Is your Car Winter Ready???? On Thursday, September 12th from 10:55 am to 1:00 pm AAA certified technicians will inspect cars free of charge in the student parking lot. After the inspection is complete, all participants receive a FREE LUNCH, compliments of AAA.

SIGN UP TODAY IN THE OFFICE!!!

The Book Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th during I/E period in the Media Center. Please stop in NOW and talk to Mrs. Baltzell if you plan to join. The club meets every Tuesday and students are required to read one book a month; then they meet and discuss it during I/E.
Mrs. Baltzell has another NOOK available for checkout. See her if you are interested!!
 
During lunch, students need to go to the office to receive their new USERNAME and PASSWORD for Progress Book, if you haven't already!!
 
The Stratford Trip has seats available for this year's trip on October 9, 10, and 11. There are just a couple of days left to sign up. See Mr. Smith in room 214 for sign-up sheets and information.
TOMORROW is FTA DOLLAR DOUGHNUT DAY!!
Start your day on Friday with a delicious, fresh, and warm doughnut. Tables will be set up in the front lobby and in Senior Hallway.
 
Senior Night Forms must be turned in to MP by Monday, September 9th.
 
The lunch menu for FRIDAY is Mexican Bar; nachos, burrito, taco with lettuce and cheese, refried beans, fruit and milk OR a cheeseburger sandwich.
GUIDANCE
 
Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for sophomores and juniors to be a friend for an area elementary student. The program meets once a week for group activities, snacks, games and LOTS of fun!
Applications are available in the Guidance office.
The Navy will have a representative in the cafeteria hallway during lunch TODAY!!
 
The Marine Corp will have a representative here TOMORROW for a lunchtime visit!!
 
SPORTS/ATHLETICS
 
Pre-sale tickets will be sold every Thursday and Friday in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 s.m. - 2:45 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the gate.

Reserved seats are still available at $30.00 each and student general admission season passes are available for $17.50 each for the five home games.

STUDENT INFORMATION
 
The Book Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th during I/E period in the Media Center.   Please stop in NOW and talk to Mrs. Baltzell if you plan to join.  The club meets every Tuesday and students are required to read one book a month;  then they meet and discuss it during I/E.

If you are planning on taking a non-Celina student to the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 5th, you must fill out a visitor form.  They are located in the office.

Celina Varsity Volleyball lost in four sets last night against Marion Local....
17-25, 25-23, 16-25, and 21-25.
Girls played very well despite the loss.  Stats can be found on Maxpreps if interested.
Celina JV lost in three sets.
 
Boys Soccer Results in New Knoxville
Varsity won 3-0
Goals scored by Eric Moeder, Ryan Hoyng, and Jarren Casto
JV defeated Miami East 7-0

If you want ta club to join that involves photography, graphics, socialization and fun, then it is for you!!
First meeting is during I/E period TODAY in room 104 (Mrs. Langmeyer's room).

The C.H.S. Autumn Theatre auditions for Once Upon a Wolf, are TONIGHT from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Celina Ed. Complex. These auditions are closed- just bring yourself! There is no singing required. This is a wonderful comedy, and we need a large cast of zany characters! Once you have auditioned you are permitted to leave. Hope to see you TONIGHT!!! A Representative from Ohio State University Columbus and Lima, will give a presentation TOMORROW during I/E period. Any Junior or Senior that would like to attend the presentation will need to sign up in the Guidance office. Sign up no later than third period on the day of the presentation.
Do not go to I/E PERIOD that day!! Report directly to the Media Center. Attendance will be taken there.

The Stratford Trip has seats available for this year's trip on October 9, 10, and 11. There is less than one week left to sign up. On this year's trip we will see Shakespeare's Othello, Fiddler on the Roof, and Tommy, the Rock Opera. We will also have a private song and dance workshop with cast members from Tommy. See Mr. Smith in room 214 for sign-up sheets and information.
Do you enjoy reading, writing, and/or art? Then ReQuest is just the club for you. Students of all grade levels are welcome to help us select writings, choose artwork , produce and sell the 2013-14 Literary Magazine. See Mrs. Lefeld or Miss Brunswick for more details.
 
If you are interested in being part of Students Against Destructive Decisions (aka SADD), please sign up in Mrs. Wenning's Room (211) on the table next to her door. You need to sign-up before August 30th . If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Wenning before or after school.

REPORTING IN....Celina Varsity Volleyball won against Lima Bath last night in 3 sets...25 - 15, 27 - 25, 25 - 15.  JV also won in 2 sets.

There will be a Future Teacher's meeting for all current members and those interested TODAY during I/E period in the MEDIA CENTER. Ask Mr. Ellinger if you have questions. (All of this year's FTA Teacher Assistants must be in attendance).

PROGRESS BOOK USERNAME AND PASSWORDS HAVE CHANGED!!!!
We will be sending home letters this week explaining how to register for a new username and password. Please share this information with your parents. Also during lunch, students will need to go to the office to receive their new USERNAME and PASSWORD!!
 
If you are interested in being part of Students Against Destructive Decisions (aka SADD), please sign up in Mrs. Wenning's Room (211) on the table next to her door. You need to sign-up before August 30th . If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Wenning before or after school.
 
TOMORROW, right after school, in room 212, there will be the first Spirit Squad meeting for the 2013-14 school year!!

ATTENTION: There will be a meeting for all boys who want to play basketball and not involved in a fall sport on the EAST STAGE on Wednesday, August 28th (right after school) . We will discuss our fall schedule!!
 
ATTENTION all girls playing softball this spring, there will be a meeting in the Lecture hall at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, August 28th.
 
Celina girls golf team shot a 179 coming in 1st place against Defiance and Shawnee last night. Kelly Stahl shot a 45 and Johna Walls shot a 46. While Kailee Ross and Haley McGillvary, Celina's Medalists, sealed the victory with 44's!! The LADIES are 3-0 on the season!! We are back in action tonight at The Fox's Den!!
 
Boys soccer results at Miller City....Varsity tied 1-1 with that goal scored by Ryan Hoyng assisted by Isaac Elston. JV Won 4-1....Way to go BOYS!!
 

Happy Birthday today to Zach Rieger, Allison Rieger, Kanisha Wycuff, Nathaniel Stoner, and Padraig Harger....we hope your day TUESDAY TERRIFIC!!!
