STUDENT INFORMATION


The French Club will meet in room 104 TODAY after school to make food. BE THERE!

The junior class needs workers for the concession stand for the boys' basketball game Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th. Sign up in Mr. Higgins' room, room 201. All popcorn workers need to be at the Fieldhouse at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there at 5:30.
Also TODAY there is a make-up game....CONCESSION WORKERS AND SWEEPERS ARE NEEDED!!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS.....Attend the 7th session, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, which will take place TODAY during I.E./Advisory. This session will focus on "Know the Basics - Interviewing Skills." The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you have ordered your Class of 2014 Senior shirt then we need you to provide your signature so they can be printed on the back of the shirts. Please stop by the office TODAY or next week and see Kassie so we can get your signature and have the shirts printed. If you did not order a Class of 2014 Senior shirt and would still like to do so, order forms are available in the main office. OVISCO plans to have our shirts ready towards the end of this month. GET YOUR SIGNATURES IN AND ORDER NOW!!

IFlirtz have been passed out to advisory rooms and will be picked up on Wednesday, so fill yours out!!  Early release or tri-star students need to stop by their advisory rooms to fill theirs out by Wednesday.  You must fill them out in your advisory room.  You may not take them home.

ATTENTION SCHOLASTIC TEAM....The sign-up sheet for Saturday's tourney at Van Wert is on the bulletin board in Mr. Hoover's room. Please stop by and sign it if you are wishing to compete.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  AAA School Safety Patrol Grant Award Program
This program is open to high school seniors who once served as a member of a AAA School Safety Patrol team.
Due to numerous school delays and closings in the past month, the AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant deadline has been extended.  Materials must now be postmarked by Tuesday, March 4th.


Congratulations to all Celina Band Members who participated in the OMEA Solo & Ensemble Contest held this past weekend at St. Marys Memorial High School. All of our participating students earned either an excellent or superior rating (the two highest possible ratings). Those earning a rating of "EXCELLENT" were: Reagan Moege, Derek Arata, Libby Suhr, the concert Band Flute Trio, Sam Stroth, Aden Gariety, Nicole Bowsher, Caleb Steinke, the Symphonic Band Clarinet Trio, and Sarah Plattner. Earning the highest rating of "SUPERIOR" were Roman Mitchell, Hannah Stroth, the Celina Symphonic Percussion Ensemble, Beth Garwood, Derek Arata, Chris Cowdery, Blaze Andrew, the Symphonic Flute Trio, Hannah Glass, the Concert Percussion Ensemble, and Grace Seals.

Congratulations to this year's MOCK TRIAL TEAM!! Despite a strong showing, the team was eliminated this past Friday at Findlay's district competition. However, a special congratulations goes out to Nathan Higgins and Camille Smith who won OUTSTANDING ATTORNEY in each of their rounds. Congrats to all involved!! :)

Come to the display cases outside the Media Center and see the new collection of owls.  English teacher, Mrs. Clouse, is sharing her collection of OWLS from all over the world ~ some of which she bought during her travels.  They are unique!!

     **Thursday, February 7th, Bob Evans will donate 15% of all proceeds to the FTA Scholarship Fund IF you have a flyer with you!!  You may get a flyer today or tomorrow in Mr. Ellinger's room #301 or from any FTA member!!

        **PROM DRESS EXCHANGE is here at the High School this Sunday, January 6, 2013.  SELL or BUY GENTLY USED DRESSES;  there are gorgeous dresses at great prices!!

     **Fighting for Flaute wristbands are in the office for $2.  All proceeds will go to the Dan Flaute Family, in which Dan is battling pancreatic cancer.
   
     **SENIORS:  Senior class officers will be coming around TODAY during advisory to get signatures for the back of the senior shirts.  If you do not have an advisory, please stop in the office to sign your name on the bulldog print.  Order forms are due TODAY!   

     **Those students that have not picked up their ASVAB scores may do so in the Guidance office at your convenience.

     **IMPORTANT CHANGE:  The Winter Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, January 19th.  We have forms in the office for those students who wish to invite a student guest.  The forms need to be turned in NO LATER than Thursday, January 17th.     
       
    **ATTENTION:  Any student in Ms. Hainline's 2nd or 3rd trimester Civil Rights class, there will be a field trip next Friday, January 11th to the Underground Railroad Museum in Cincinnati.  The first 30 students that sign up may go.  See Ms. Hainline if you are interested.

     **Tri Star Career Compact is hosting its annual Open House on Monday evening, January 7th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Students, parents, school staff and the public are invited to see the great career technical programs being offered.  All classrooms will be open with teachers available.  Visit one or all locations in Celina, Montezuma, Coldwater, and St. Marys.  College representatives will be available at some locations to discuss financial aid, how you can earn free college credits, and more.  For details visit the Tri Star website(www.tristarcareercompact.com), see your guidance counselor or call the Tri Star office at 419-586-7060.

     **Purchase a "Sandy Hook" t-shirt from Dawg Town.  Part of the proceeds will go to the Sandy Hook Elementary School.  Forms are in the office.

Pre-sale tickets for this Friday and Saturday's HOME boy's basketball games will be on sale in the Athletic office from 10:45 - 2:45 TODAY.

ATTENTION TRACK ATHLETES:  Beginning Tuesday, January 8th, there will be SPEED TRAINING in the high school for those interested.  Sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursdays right after school in the lobby.  Questions????  Check with Coach Otten!  Athletes from other sports may attend as well.

     **There will be a homecoming committee meeting TODAY in the Lecture Hall.  Passes are in MP's room.

     **Spirit Squad is in need of someone to sell programs at Friday and Saturday's basketball games.  Please see Miss Sneddon if you are interested.

     **Tri Star Career Compact is hosting its annual Open House on Monday evening, January 7th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Students, parents, school staff and the public are invited to see the great career technical programs being offered.  All classrooms will be open with teachers available.  Visit one or all locations in Celina, Montezuma, Coldwater, and St. Marys.  College representatives will be available at some locations to discuss financial aid, how you can earn free college credits, and more.  For details visit the Tri Star website(www.tristarcareercompact.com), see your guidance counselor or call the Tri Star office at 419-586-7060.

Pre-sale tickets for this Friday and Saturday's HOME boy's basketball games will be on sale in the Athletic office from 10:45 - 2:45 on Thursday and Friday.

ATTENTION TRACK ATHLETES:  Beginning Tuesday, January 8th, there will be SPEED TRAINING in the high school for those interested.  Sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursdays right after school in the lobby.  Questions????  Check with Coach Otten!  Athletes from other sports may attend as well.

     **Would you like to share some positive and upbeat "words of wisdom"??.....see Kassie!!! 

        **PROM DRESS EXCHANGE is here at the High School on Sunday, January 6, 2013.  SELL or BUY GENTLY USED DRESSES;  there are gorgeous dresses at great prices!!

     **There will be a French Club meeting in room 202 on January 2nd.  We will watch the video that we made!!  :)

     **All of those that had Ms. Hainline first trimester for Social Studies Topics class, meet TODAY in her room for your pizza party that was promised during advisory.  Please bring your own beverage and pizza will be provided.

     **There will be an FTA meeting in the Lecture Hall on TODAY during advisory period.  All members should plan on being there immediately after announcements.

     **SENIORS:  Senior class officers will be coming around during advisory all week to get signatures for the back of the senior shirts.  If you do not have an advisory, please stop in the office to sign your name on the bulldog print.  Order forms are due to your advisory teacher by TOMORROW.
       
     **This is your LAST CHANCE to buy a yearbook (ANILEC) at $50.  On December 31st, the price will increase to $60, SO, save $10 and BUY NOW!  Fill out an order form in the office or go to yearbookordercenter.com.

     **There will be a Winter Homecoming Decoration meeting after school TODAY in MP's room.  You will get a point for attending the meeting.

     **The 2013 CHS Spring Musical auditions for Grease are January 3rd from 6:00 - 9:00 at the Ed. Complex.  Please have a short Broadway - STYLE song selection prepared.  An accompanist will be available.  No acappella auditions, please.  All Celina High School students are welcome to audition!

     **The library just got a shipment of 14 new books.  Stop down and check one out for some holiday reading.

    **You have only TODAY left to film "week in 3 words"....our special holiday announcement.  Please see Kassie in the office for a camera.
     **PROM DRESS EXCHANGE is here at the High School on Sunday, January 6, 2013.  You are able to drop off dresses and accessories from 11:30 - 1:00 and shop from 1:00 - 4:00.

     **FIGHTING FOR FLAUTE wristbands are in the office for $2.  All proceeds will go to the Dan Flaute family, in which Dan is battling pancreatic cancer.
