Any girl wishing to go out for basketball next year, please get your SUMMER VACATION SLIP in to Ms. Hainline by Wednesday, April 2nd.  These are needed ASAP!

The Celina Parks and Recreation Department is in need of baseball/softball umpires AND pool staff/lifeguards.  If interested, please come to the Recreation Office (225 North Main St.) and pick up an application.  There will be a MANDATORY meeting on Wednesday, May 7th at 4:00 at the Recreation Office.

There are about 20 students who have not picked up their registration packets.  Pick these up ASAP in the Guidance Office or a schedule will be created for you.

There will be girls open gym basketball WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26th at 2:45 at the field house for any girls wanting to play next year and not involved in a spring sport.

Varsity Boy's Tennis practice will be at the Rec Plex on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week from 2:45 - 5:00 p.m. JV Boy's Tennis practice will be at CIS at 3:35 on Tuesday, and Wednesday as well.

Information is available in the Guidance Office for The Celina Moose Scholarship.

March 30th is the LAST DAY to turn in Post Secondary Option participation papers to the Guidance Office. This is a state deadline, and the papers require the signature of student and parents.

On March 26th, during Advisory, students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will receive their registration materials for the 2014-2015 school year.  You will also watch a presentation outlining graduation requirements, grade level requirements and the registration process.  ALL STUDENTS, including JUNIORS MUST stay for Advisory on MARCH 26th to receive materials and view the presentation.  No make-up session will be available!!

CBI students will receive their materials and watch the presentation during their CBI period on THURSDAY, MARCH 27TH so they will not need to stay during ADVISORY!!

REGISTRATION FOR THE AP EXAMS BEGINS TODAY, MARCH 25TH!! 
You need to register in the Guidance Office if you plan to take an AP exam.  You are required to bring a $13.00 deposit for each exam you plan to take.  The deposit may be paid with a check, made out to Celina High School.  MONDAY, APRIL 7TH is the last day to register for the exam.

The Student - Faculty game sponsored by F.T.A. will be April 29th.  Sign-up in room 301 if you are interested in playing.

CHS Creative Writing Contest
Submit any original creative writing you have written in or out of class by Friday, February 28th.
All entries will be considered for entry into the prestigious ReQuest Magazine!!
Cash Prizes to 1st ($100), 2nd ($50), and 3rd ($25) place.
*Multiple entries may be made. Include submission form with each entry.

Student Council will be selling IFlirtz during lunch TODAY, FEBRUARY 26th.  The cost is $2 per IFlirt.

IT'S TIME STUDENTS...
Return your library book if you are finished.  Renew your library book if you want to keep it a little longer.  Avoid charges and get this done right away before the trimester ends.

The boys tennis team will be doing 'INSANITY' for conditioning  Thursday of this week in the cafeteria at 2:45. The conditioning will last approximately 45 minutes.

Cheer tryouts for next school year will be held on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12th and THURSDAY, MARCH 13th from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Field house;  also on FRIDAY, MARCH 14th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at CIS.  Please sign the sheet and take an information sheet which are both located in the office. Pre-sale tickets for BOYS BASKETBALL will be sold WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY of this week in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the door.

There will be a pizza party for ALL girl basketball players TOMORROW, FEB. 27th at the K of C Hall at 4:00 p.m. Please plan on bringing all uniforms, shooting shirts, pants and reversibles (all WASHED) to the party.

This week our BOYS basketball team will be competing in the Sectional Tournament at Lima Senior High School. There are several policies enforced at ALL tournament contests:
  • It is the policy at all tournament games that balloons, banners, noisemakers and signs are not permitted.
  • Confetti or other similar items are not permitted.
  • Students are not permitted on the floor at any time, before, during or after the game, including introductions.
  • Spectators MUST WEAR SHIRTS AT ALL O.H.S.A.A. SPONSORED TOURNAMENTS
Students will be asked to NOT stand on the top of bleachers as this has caused considerable damage to many sites. Damage inflicted on facilities is charged to the competing schools.
We ask each student to respect the opponent, respect the host schools property and respect the officials and players involved in the game.
Your cooperation makes for a GREAT basketball tournament atmosphere.

Grand Lake Health Systems is accepting applications for Volunteers to work at Joint Township Hospital.  There are a variety of positions available such as helping in the Emergency Room, assisting nurses with patients, clerical work, and many more.  This is a great opportunity if you are interested in any area of health care.  Volunteer experience also looks great on resumes and scholarship applications.  Stop in the Guidance Office for an application.

There will be a Junior Class meeting for ALL JUNIORS during I/E period TODAY, FEBRUARY 25th in the Lecture Hall. All junior students who have early release are expected to be there!!

SENIORS NEED TO COMPLETE THE SENIOR T-SHIRT SURVEY THIS WEEK AND TURN IT INTO THE OFFICE. 

Student ticket order forms for Once Upon A Wolf are available in the office.  Upon completion, you can turn them into Kassie in the front office.  Don't miss this great show and order your tickets TODAY!!

GUIDANCE

SENIORS: Remember that the early action deadline for Ohio State is November 1st. In case you don't have access to a calendar, this is next Friday. Remember that applications for main campus must be submitted online using the Common Application. DO NOT wait until the last minute to submit your application and ask for a teacher reference. If you wait until next Friday, your references will not get turned in on time. MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SUBMIT THESE APPLICATIONS THIS WEEK! Check in the Guidance Office if you have questions.

The Navy will have a representative here TOMORROW.

UNOH will have a representative in the cafeteria hallway during lunch TODAY.

Attention any student interested in career in Nursing....
There will be 2 nurses from Mercer Health in the CAPT building TOMORROW during I/E to talk about their nursing careers. All students grade 9 - 12 are welcome to sign up in the Guidance Office.

Any girl not in a fall sport that is going out for basketball, needs to be at conditioning TONIGHT from 2:45 - 4:00 pm. Please meet in the girls' locker room. Practice starts at 2:45 on Friday.


 CELINA VARSITY VOLLEYBALL defeated Bryan in three sets last night in the District opener.
Scores were 25-17, 25-11, 25-15.
They will play Defiance on Saturday evening in the District Finals.

Teens in 7th through 12th grade are invited to come dressed as Zombies and enjoy the movie Warm Bodies; rated PG-13, on Thursday, October 24th. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Pizza, pop and brains will be served. Prizes for the best dressed will be award. Pre-registration is required. Edward Jones in cooperation with "Operation Gratitude" invites you in thanking our Service men and women and first responders as we collect used cell phones.  Money earned from the recycling of cell phones will provide care packages for these men and women.  You can deposit used cell phones in the high school office in the box labeled "Operation Gratitude".

REMINDER....tomorrow is fall make-up/retake picture day.  Picture packets are still available in the office.

If you haven't turned in your Photo Release Form and/or your Acceptable Use Policy.....DO IT NOW or your computer access will be denied!!! See Mrs. Baltzell with any questions.

Celina High School Students for Life will have a meeting TOMORROW in Mr. Andrew's room, room 109. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ATTENTION any junior who registered to take the PSAT: the test is this Wednesday periods 1 - 3. You should report to the Lecture Hall before 1st period. Attendance will be taken there. Bring pencils and a calculator.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!  This Thursday, October 17th there will be a bonfire at the Mercer County Fairgrounds to support our Dogs!  The fire starts at 7 and is open to the public.  Admission is free but please bring a canned food item to help support the C.A.L.L food pantry.  See you there!

GUIDANCE

Sign up in the Guidance Office to listen to Joe Clouse, a pharmacist from Coldwater Hospital, talk about his career in pharmacy this Friday during I/E.

The University of Findlay will have a representative in the Media Center during I/E period tomorrow.  Be sure to sign-up in the Guidance Office if you wish to attend.

Lourdes University and Ohio State School of Cosmetology will be here for I/E presentations in November. Stop in the Guidance Office if you would like to sign up for either of these presentations.
SPORTS/ATHLETICS
 
Any girl basketball player, not playing a fall sport, there will be open gym this week (tonight and Thursday) at 4:00 pm at the Fieldhouse.  This is a change in your schedule!!

 
BOYS SOCCER defeated Kenton 2 - 0 in the first round of the tournament.
Goals were scored by Brennen Piper and Hank Thobe.
