STUDENT INFORMATION

The Student - Faculty game sponsored by F.T.A. will be April 29th.  Sign-up in room 301 if you are interested in playing.

CHS Creative Writing Contest
Submit any original creative writing you have written in or out of class by Friday, February 28th.
All entries will be considered for entry into the prestigious ReQuest Magazine!!
Cash Prizes to 1st ($100), 2nd ($50), and 3rd ($25) place.
*Multiple entries may be made. Include submission form with each entry.

Student Council will be selling IFlirtz during lunch TODAY, FEBRUARY 26th.  The cost is $2 per IFlirt.

IT'S TIME STUDENTS...
Return your library book if you are finished.  Renew your library book if you want to keep it a little longer.  Avoid charges and get this done right away before the trimester ends.
 
The lunch menu for THURSDAY is pasta bar, bread stick, green beans, pears, and milk OR a grilled chicken sandwich.

The boys tennis team will be doing 'INSANITY' for conditioning  Thursday of this week in the cafeteria at 2:45. The conditioning will last approximately 45 minutes.

Cheer tryouts for next school year will be held on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12th and THURSDAY, MARCH 13th from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Field house;  also on FRIDAY, MARCH 14th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at CIS.  Please sign the sheet and take an information sheet which are both located in the office. See Miss Brunswick with any questions.

Pre-sale tickets for BOYS BASKETBALL will be sold WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY of this week in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the door.

There will be a pizza party for ALL girl basketball players TOMORROW, FEB. 27th at the K of C Hall at 4:00 p.m. Please plan on bringing all uniforms, shooting shirts, pants and reversibles (all WASHED) to the party.

This week our BOYS basketball team will be competing in the Sectional Tournament at Lima Senior High School. There are several policies enforced at ALL tournament contests:
  • It is the policy at all tournament games that balloons, banners, noisemakers and signs are not permitted.
  • Confetti or other similar items are not permitted.
  • Students are not permitted on the floor at any time, before, during or after the game, including introductions.
  • Spectators MUST WEAR SHIRTS AT ALL O.H.S.A.A. SPONSORED TOURNAMENTS
Students will be asked to NOT stand on the top of bleachers as this has caused considerable damage to many sites. Damage inflicted on facilities is charged to the competing schools.
We ask each student to respect the opponent, respect the host schools property and respect the officials and players involved in the game.
Your cooperation makes for a GREAT basketball tournament atmosphere.

Schedule change request forms will be available in the Guidance Office beginning on MONDAY, March 3rd.  All forms must be signed by a parent and returned by 9:00 a.m. on FRIDAY, March 7th.  SCHEDULES WILL NOT BE CHANGED THIS WEEK!!

Grand Lake Health Systems is accepting applications for Volunteers to work at Joint Township Hospital.  There are a variety of positions available such as helping in the Emergency Room, assisting nurses with patients, clerical work, and many more.  This is a great opportunity if you are interested in any area of health care.  Volunteer experience also looks great on resumes and scholarship applications.  Stop in the Guidance Office for an application.

     **REMINDER TO ALL SENIORS:  Go to hjgraduation.com and ORDER YOUR CAP AND GOWN TODAY !!!  After Friday, prices will increase. 

     **PLEASE RETURN BOOKS TO THE MEDIA CENTER NOW!!

     **Any book club member who would like to sign a 'get well card' for Mrs. Baltzell....please come to the Media Center during Advisory.

  • It is the policy at all tournament games that balloons, banners, noisemakers and signs are not permitted.
  • Confetti or other similar items are not permitted.
  • Students are not permitted on the floor at anytime, before, during or after the game, including introductions.
  • Spectators MUST WEAR SHIRT AT ALL O.H.S.A.A. SPONSORED TOURNAMENTS.

Pre-Sale tickets for Friday's Boys Basketball Sectional Final contest at Lima Sr. High School will be sold in the High School Athletic Office TODAY and Friday 3/1 from 7:00 a.m. -
2:30 p.m.  Celina will receive a percentage of the pre-sale ticket sales.

Pre-Sale tickets for TONIGHT'S Girls Basketball District Semi-Final Contest at Paulding High School will be sold in the High School Athletic Office TODAY from 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  Provided the girls win, pre-sale tickets will be available TOMORROW as well for the Saturday, 3/2 District Finals at Paulding High School at 7:00 p.m.  Celina will receive a percentage of pre-sale ticket sales.

     **STUDY TABLES are offered every day after school from 2:30 - 3:00 AND on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00.  Get some extra help before your exams tomorrow.

SPORTS/ATHLETICS

This week our girls basketball team will be competing in the Sectional Tournament at Spencerville High School.  There are several policies enforced at ALL tournament contests:
  • It is the policy at all tournament games that balloons, banners, noisemakers and signs are not permitted.
  • Confetti or other similar items are not permitted.
  • Students are not permitted on the floor at anytime, before, during or after the game, including introductions.
  • Spectators MUST WEAR SHIRT AT ALL O.H.S.A.A. SPONSORED TOURNAMENTS.
  • $2.00 Donation for Parking
Students will be asked to NOT stand on the top of bleachers as this has caused considerable damage to many sites.  Damage inflicted on facilities is charged to the competing schools.

The Boys Basketball team will be playing the Sectional game at approximately 8:00 pm at Lima Sr. TODAY.  The Girls Basketball team will be playing the District Semi-Final game at approximately 8:00 pm at Paulding TOMORROW.  Tickets are available in the Athletic Office  today and tomorrow.  Adult pre-sale tickets are $6 and student tickets are $4.  All tickets will be $6 at the door. We receive a portion of the proceeds from pre-sale tickets.   

Let's "Keep the Tradition Going"...for only $10.00 you can stop in the office and purchase your Boys Basketball Tournament Shirt and support our Dogs as we begin Tournaments on February 27th.  LET'S GO DOGS!!!

GUIDANCE

Applications are available in the Guidance Office for the FTA (Future Teachers of America) Scholarship.
Course Change Request Forms for the Spring Trimester are available in the Guidance Office.  They will be due back to the Guidance Office by the end of the school day TOMORROW.
Special wishes go out today to Tyler Davis, William Osborne, Audriana Adams, and Bryce Ankney....set the world on fire with your dreams and use the flame to light a birthday candle. HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

STUDENT INFORMATION



     **There will be a CHS students for life meeting on Friday from 2:30 to 3:00 in Mr. Andrew's room.  Food and pop will be provided at the meeting and there will be a sign in sheet in the office if you wish to attend.  Also, there will be a brief officer meeting after the general meeting.
     **ALL Future Teachers of America students should report to the Lecture Hall immediately after announcements TODAY!!

     **All Juniors that sell $60 of bars or more will be put into a drawing and 3 people will win $25 and get to go to the front of the line at promenade behind the class officers.  Remember Juniors ...you need to sell candy in order to get into prom at a discounted price.  You can pick up your candy before or after school in Mrs. Sutter's room 115.

There will be a mandatory boy's tennis meeting TODAY after school in the cafeteria.  The meeting should last about 15 minutes. 

OHSAA is requiring a "Concussion and Head Injury Information Sheet" to be read and signed by parents of all Spring Athletes.  This signed form must be tuned into Coach Braun before an athlete may practice or participate.  These forms are available in Coach Braun's room, 111.
ATTENTION SPRING TRACK ATHLETES:  There will be a girls meeting TODAY, for those interested in participating this spring, at 2:30 in the Lecture Hall.    Please bring a pen and/or pencil.  Any questions, see Coach Otten.
