STUDENT INFORMATION

REMINDER...THANKSGIVING BREAK IS WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH - MONDAY, DECEMBER 2ND.  HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!  :)

The current Dayton Children's Toy Drive total is 344 toys!! We are so excited to have these, but we are a ways away from our 1,500 toy goal. Please continue to think of those who are spending their Christmases in the hospital this year. We appreciate all of your help in spreading the word and your donations!!

NHS members....DON'T FORGET your poinsettia forms are due TODAY, NOVEMBER 26TH!! Bring them to MP's room!!

JUNIOR CLASS MEETING....TODAY, NOVEMBER 26TH during I/E. Report to Advisory first for attendance then to the Lecture Hall for the meeting. YOU WILL BE RETURNING TO YOUR ADVISORY CLASS!!

The Spirit Squad Thanksgiving carry-in will be TODAY, November 26th during I/E period in room 212. If you would like to attend, you MUST get a pass from Mrs. Ball before Tuesday. If you do not have a pass, you will not be allowed to attend the meeting!!

IMPORTANT REMINDER....The personalized and very cool SENIOR T-SHIRTS are now on sale for only $15. Seniors can obtain an order form in the office or see Mr. Andrew or a class officer. ALL ORDERS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED WITH YOUR PAYMENT!!

This topic will focus on "Where do I find scholarships?" Seniors can register in the Guidance Office. The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

If you have not received your report card, pick it up in the office!!

The lunch menu for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3RD is pasta bar, bread stick, carrots, applesauce and milk OR a tenderloin sandwich.
GUIDANCE
ATTENTION SOPHOMORES:  If you missed the Tri Star meeting last Friday, November 22nd and you would like to sign up to go on a Tri Star visit, stop in the Guidance Office and fill out a form with your choice of location.

ATTENTION SENIORS WHO PLAN TO CONTINUE EDUCATION AFTER HIGH SCHOOL.....There will be a Financial Aid Meeting for seniors and parents on Monday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.  A University Financial Aid Advisor will be presenting the information.  Please note this date is different from what is shown on the District calendar.

Players that were unable to make it to the 9th grade banquet on Thursday or the JV/Varsity banquet on Sunday....pick up your certificate and t-shirt from Coach Wenning in room 304.

STUDENT INFORMATION

The current Dayton Children's Toy Drive total is 344 toys!!  We are so excited to have these, but we are a ways away from our 1,500 toy goal.  While you are out this weekend starting your holiday shopping, please think of those who are spending their Christmases in the hospital this year.  We appreciate all of your help in spreading the word and your donations!!

The Spirit Squad Thanksgiving carry-in will be on Tuesday during I/E period in room 212.  If you would like to attend, you MUST get a pass from Mrs. Ball before Tuesday.  If you do not have a pass, you will not be allowed to attend the meeting!!

AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK is celebrated this week.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO OUR TEACHERS, BUS DRIVERS, EDUCATIONAL AIDES, PRINCIPAL, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, ATTENDANCE OFFICER, CAFETERIA WORKERS, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, COACHES, COUNSELORS, SECRETARIES, NURSES, MEDIA SPECIALIST, SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS, AND VOLUNTEERS. These people CARE about the students at Celina High School and strive to help each one succeed!!

The ANILEC is asking for all Seniors to begin turning in their baby pictures and senior pictures for use in this year's upcoming yearbook. Bring your baby pictures and senior pictures (with your name on it) to the office OR preferably upload the image(s) to hjeshare.com, code: celina.  Also, 2012-2013 ANILECs are still available to those who would like to purchase one.  Don't forget to order your 2013-14 ANILEC too!!

IT IS TIME TO SIGN UP in the office FOR THE BLOOD DRIVE, which will take place on Thursday, December 19th. Come to donate and receive a t-shirt!!

Stop by the Media Center and see the new showcase displays.  SADD has one on Bullying;  the French class has one on Phantom of the Opera;  Mrs. Fetters' Curious George collection is down there as well as a Thanksgiving display with a Christmas wish list!!

The lunch menu for FRIDAY is Mexican Bar:  nachos, burrito, taco with lettuce and cheese, refried beans, fruit, & milk OR a cheeseburger sandwich.
GUIDANCE
IPFW will have a representative in the cafeteria hallway during lunch today.
 
ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: FRIDAY you will be attending an Orientation session for the TriStar Career Compact. You will attend during I.E/Advisory period. You will need to report to class first and after attendance immediately report to the Lecture Hall.  Please bring a pencil.
 
ATTENTION SENIORS: THIS FRIDAY is the LAST day to request a transcript IF YOU WANT IT SENT OUT BEFORE THANKSGIVING BREAK.
Keep in mind that we will be out of school Nov. 27 - Dec. 2. If you are applying to a college with an admission deadline of Dec. 1st (For example: University of Cincinnati, Miami University) you will need to be sure and take care of requesting transcripts by FRIDAY. IF you are applying through the Common Application, you also need to make your counselor aware of this by FRIDAY! NO SCHOOL REPORT FORMS WILL BE ABLE TO BE PROCESSED DURING THE BREAK.

SPORTS/ATHLETICS
Are you someone who is energetic, who has good sportsmanship and school spirit??? Do you like to jump around and give high fives???? YOU could be our next Spike!!!
We are looking for a Bulldog Mascot for this basketball season. You must not be a participant in any other Winter sports because as the mascot, you will earn a Varsity letter. Males and females are welcome and tumbling is not required. If you have any questions, see Miss Brunswick. All students interested should write their name on the sign-up sheet in the office.

STUDENT INFORMATION

     **ReQuest meeting in 206 Tuesday after school.

     **Sign up in the office for the blood drive on Thursday, February 21st.  It is not too late to HELP SAVE LIVES!!
  
           **Fighting for Flaute wristbands are in the office for $2.  All proceeds will go to the Dan Flaute Family, in which Dan is battling pancreatic cancer.  

     **Those students that have not picked up their ASVAB scores may do so in the Guidance office at your convenience.

     **We have Homecoming forms in the office for those students who wish to invite a student guest.  The forms need to be turned in NO LATER than Thursday, January 17th.     
  
     **The junior class needs concession stand workers for the boy's basketball games Saturday, January 12th and Monday, January 14th.  Sign up today in room 201 (Mr. Higgin's room).  Popcorn workers report to the Field house at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there by 5:30.
      
     **Tri Star Career Compact is hosting its annual Open House this evening from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Students, parents, school staff and the public are invited to see the great career technical programs being offered.  All classrooms will be open with teachers available.  Visit one or all locations in Celina, Montezuma, Coldwater, and St. Marys.  College representatives will be available at some locations to discuss financial aid, how you can earn free college credits, and more.  For details visit the Tri Star website(www.tristarcareercompact.com), see your guidance counselor or call the Tri Star office at 419-586-7060.

        **PROM DRESS EXCHANGE is here at the High School this Sunday, January 6, 2013.  SELL or BUY GENTLY USED DRESSES;  there are gorgeous dresses at great prices!!

     **Fighting for Flaute wristbands are in the office for $2.  All proceeds will go to the Dan Flaute Family, in which Dan is battling pancreatic cancer.
   
     **SENIORS:  Senior class officers will be coming around TODAY during advisory to get signatures for the back of the senior shirts.  If you do not have an advisory, please stop in the office to sign your name on the bulldog print.  Order forms are due TODAY!   

     **Those students that have not picked up their ASVAB scores may do so in the Guidance office at your convenience.

     **IMPORTANT CHANGE:  The Winter Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, January 19th.  We have forms in the office for those students who wish to invite a student guest.  The forms need to be turned in NO LATER than Thursday, January 17th.     
       
    **ATTENTION:  Any student in Ms. Hainline's 2nd or 3rd trimester Civil Rights class, there will be a field trip next Friday, January 11th to the Underground Railroad Museum in Cincinnati.  The first 30 students that sign up may go.  See Ms. Hainline if you are interested.

     **The junior class needs concession stand workers for the boy's basketball game TONIGHT and Saturday, January 5th.  Sign up today in room 201 (Mr. Higgin's room).  Popcorn workers report to the Field house at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there by 5:30.

     **There will be a homecoming committee meeting TODAY in the Lecture Hall.  Passes are in MP's room.
