STUDENT INFORMATION

The current Dayton Children's Toy Drive total is 344 toys!!  We are so excited to have these, but we are a ways away from our 1,500 toy goal.  While you are out this weekend starting your holiday shopping, please think of those who are spending their Christmases in the hospital this year.  We appreciate all of your help in spreading the word and your donations!!

The Spirit Squad Thanksgiving carry-in will be on Tuesday during I/E period in room 212.  If you would like to attend, you MUST get a pass from Mrs. Ball before Tuesday.  If you do not have a pass, you will not be allowed to attend the meeting!!

REMINDER TO ALL SENIORS.....sign up for the 2nd session, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, which will take place on December 3rd during I.E./Advisory. This topic will focus on "Where do I find scholarships?" Seniors can register in the Guidance Office. The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK is celebrated this week.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU TO OUR TEACHERS, BUS DRIVERS, EDUCATIONAL AIDES, PRINCIPAL, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, ATTENDANCE OFFICER, CAFETERIA WORKERS, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, COACHES, COUNSELORS, SECRETARIES, NURSES, MEDIA SPECIALIST, SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS, AND VOLUNTEERS. These people CARE about the students at Celina High School and strive to help each one succeed!!

The ANILEC is asking for all Seniors to begin turning in their baby pictures and senior pictures for use in this year's upcoming yearbook. Bring your baby pictures and senior pictures (with your name on it) to the office OR preferably upload the image(s) to hjeshare.com, code: celina.  Also, 2012-2013 ANILECs are still available to those who would like to purchase one.  Don't forget to order your 2013-14 ANILEC too!!

IT IS TIME TO SIGN UP in the office FOR THE BLOOD DRIVE, which will take place on Thursday, December 19th. Come to donate and receive a t-shirt!!

The personalized and very cool SENIOR T-SHIRTS are now on sale for only $15. Seniors can obtain an order form in the office or see Mr. Andrew or a class officer. ALL ORDERS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED WITH YOUR PAYMENT!!
ORDER DEADLINE....TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH!!!

Stop by the Media Center and see the new showcase displays.  SADD has one on Bullying;  the French class has one on Phantom of the Opera;  Mrs. Fetters' Curious George collection is down there as well as a Thanksgiving display with a Christmas wish list!!

The lunch menu for FRIDAY is Mexican Bar:  nachos, burrito, taco with lettuce and cheese, refried beans, fruit, & milk OR a cheeseburger sandwich.
GUIDANCE
IPFW will have a representative in the cafeteria hallway during lunch today.
 
ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: FRIDAY you will be attending an Orientation session for the TriStar Career Compact. You will attend during I.E/Advisory period. You will need to report to class first and after attendance immediately report to the Lecture Hall.  Please bring a pencil.
 
ATTENTION SENIORS: THIS FRIDAY is the LAST day to request a transcript IF YOU WANT IT SENT OUT BEFORE THANKSGIVING BREAK.
Keep in mind that we will be out of school Nov. 27 - Dec. 2. If you are applying to a college with an admission deadline of Dec. 1st (For example: University of Cincinnati, Miami University) you will need to be sure and take care of requesting transcripts by FRIDAY. IF you are applying through the Common Application, you also need to make your counselor aware of this by FRIDAY! NO SCHOOL REPORT FORMS WILL BE ABLE TO BE PROCESSED DURING THE BREAK.
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THIS!!
 

SPORTS/ATHLETICS
Are you someone who is energetic, who has good sportsmanship and school spirit??? Do you like to jump around and give high fives???? YOU could be our next Spike!!!
We are looking for a Bulldog Mascot for this basketball season. You must not be a participant in any other Winter sports because as the mascot, you will earn a Varsity letter. Males and females are welcome and tumbling is not required. If you have any questions, see Miss Brunswick. All students interested should write their name on the sign-up sheet in the office.

LISTEN UP: The annual Children's Hospital toy drive is now in full swing and spots for the trip are filling up fast. If you would like to join see Mrs. Ball or Mrs. Kramer for a permission slip. Our goal this year is to collect 1500 brand new toys for kids in Dayton Children's - if you can help us meet our goal please drop your toys off in room 212.

Also those planning on running INDOOR TRACK, will have a brief meeting TODAY at 2:30 in the CAPT building.
 
FRESHMEN FOOTBALL PLAYERS:  The pizza party/banquet will be TOMORROW evening at 7:00 in the CAPT building.

STUDENT INFORMATION

There will be an After Prom Meeting on Wednesday, November 6th at 7:00 pm in the High School Cafeteria. Chair people have been chosen....but WE NEED MORE HELPERS PLEASE!!!!!

This week's football game is HOME against Kenton and is a BIG game!!  If you need a ticket, please sign up with a form in the office underneath the telephone.  10 free tickets will be given away TODAY right after school!

Workers are still needed for the spaghetti dinner on November 1st.  If you would like to sign up or need details please stop in room 212.
 
SADD members need to turn in their YANKEE candle sale forms to Mrs. Wenning by TOMORROW!!

There will be a Teenage Republican meeting TOMORROW before school in the cafeteria.
 
FCCLA BAKE SALE

GUIDANCE

SENIORS:  Remember that the early action deadline for Ohio State is November 1st.  In case you don't have access to a calendar, this is next Friday.  Remember that applications for main campus must be submitted online using the Common Application.  DO NOT wait until the last minute to submit your application and ask for a teacher reference.  If you wait until next Friday, your references will not get turned in on time.  MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SUBMIT THESE APPLICATIONS THIS WEEK!  Check in the Guidance Office if you have questions.
 
IPFW will have a representative here during lunch time TODAY!!
 
UNOH will have a representative in the cafeteria hallway during lunch TOMORROW.
 
Attention any student interested in career in Nursing....
There will be 2 nurses from Mercer Health in the CAPT building this Friday during I/E to talk about their nursing careers. All students grade 9 - 12 are welcome to sign up in the Guidance Office.

SPORTS/ATHLETICS
 
Any girl not in a fall sport that is going out for basketball, needs to be at conditioning TONIGHT and TOMORROW from 2:45 - 4:00 pm. Please meet in the girls' locker room. Practice starts at 2:45 on Friday.


CONGRATS TO GIRLS SOCCER FOR THEIR DISTRICT SEMI-FINAL WIN OVER SHAWNEE 4 -2. COME SEE THEM IN ACTION THIS SATURDAY AT 2:00 PM FOR THE DISTRICT FINAL VERSUS BATH!!

 Special wishes go out to Kevin Lockwood, Cutis Kellam, Robert Burklo, Melody Donovan, and Mitchell Brubaker....Happy Birthday and happy 364 days in between!
