The theme for Winter Homecoming is AMERICA. It will be on SATURDAY, JANUARY 11th, from 8 - 11 p.m. Tickets are being sold at lunch in the lobby TODAY!  Tickets can also be purchased at the door. The price is $8.00.

The Cavaliers Student Achiever Program provides any student who is earning a 3.0, has improving grades, perfect attendance or has displayed great leadership with a complimentary ticket to a Cleveland Cavaliers game.  Order your free ticket online at CAVS.COM/ACHIEVER.  The PROMO CODE is CAV3.

The AAA Traffic Safety Poster Program is asking all students to GET CREATIVE and design a poster cautioning teens to avoid the many dangers facing teen drivers today.  Prizes may include an invitation to a special recognition ceremony and/or money.  Entries must be received on or before February 11, 2014.  See Kassie for additional details.
 
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO DONATED ITEMS TO THE FOOD AND CLOTHING PANTRY DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2013.  Your donation helped serve 902 families involving 2,475 individuals during the month in need of food and personal care items.  The Clothing Pantry served 222 families involving 722 individuals with 1,506 articles of clothing during the month of November.  Your donations are always appreciated!!  :)

GUIDANCE

The Celina High School Post-Secondary Enrollment Options meeting will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the high school Lecture Hall. The Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program provides high school students the opportunity to take classes at eligible post-secondary institutions. ACT REMINDERS FOR THOSE TAKING THE TEST TOMORROW....

1. Be sure to bring your picture ID and admission ticket. The admission ticket MUST have your picture on it!! You cannot test without these items.

2. Don't forget a calculator and several #2 pencils.

3. In case the weather gets bad and we need to cancel, listen to WCSM or WKKI. We will only cancel if the weather is extremely bad, so be sure to DRIVE SAFELY and leave yourself enough time so that you don't have to rush and drive like a maniac!!

4. Get a good night’s rest!! See you tomorrow!

There is a new Christmas showcase outside the Media center built by Business Professionals of America and our very own student, Sabrina Smith.  The themes are the 100 Most Influential Toys from 1923 to Present and toys that define our childhood.

The ANILEC is asking for all Seniors to begin turning in their baby pictures and senior pictures for use in this year's upcoming yearbook. Bring your baby pictures and senior pictures (with your name on it) to the office OR preferably upload the image(s) to hjeshare.com, code: celina. Also, 2012-2013 ANILECs are still available to those who would like to purchase one. Don't forget to order your 2013-14 ANILEC too!!

Book Club will meet on Tuesday, December 17th for a Christmas party, book discussion, and to get your new book!  See Mrs. Baltzell so we can plan the food you want.  Book Club meets in the Media Center during I/E period.

The junior class needs workers for the concession stand for the boys' basketball game on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH. Sign up TODAY in Mr. Higgins' room, room 201. All popcorn workers need to be at the Fieldhouse at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there at 5:30.

IT IS TIME TO SIGN UP in the office FOR THE BLOOD DRIVE, which will take place on Thursday, December 19th.  BE A HERO!!

Anyone who would like to participate in the Christmas assembly on Friday, December 20th, please sign up for different activities in the lobby!!  Student Council needs students from each grade.

The auditions for the C.H.S. Spring Musical SHREK is DECEMBER 17TH
FROM 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. AT THE ED. COMPLEX.
Please have a short Broadway - STYLE Song selection prepared.
An accompanist will be available.  No acappella auditions, please!!
All Celina High School students are welcome to audition!!
Performances will be April 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13.
There will be a mandatory meeting for all those cast December 19th 6:00 - 9:00.
Rehearsals are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.  Be prepared to list all possible conflicts!!

The lunch menu for THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12TH is pasta bar, bread stick, green beans, pears and milk OR a chicken patty sandwich.
The lunch menu for FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH is Mexican bar:  nachos, burrito, taco with lettuce & cheese, refried beans, fruit, and milk OR a cheeseburger sandwich.

 

SPORTS/ATHLETICS

Pre-sale tickets for BOYS BASKETBALL will be sold every Thursday and Friday in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the door.
