STUDENT INFORMATION

REMINDER....NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH AND MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH due to a Teacher In-Service and President's Day.  :)
 
Tri-Star buses will run as normal at Coldwater and St. Marys this Friday, February 14th.
 
JUNIORS AND SENIORS.....Attend the 6th session, sponsored by Celina Mercer County Chamber & Rotary Club, which will take place TODAY, FEBRUARY 11TH during I.E./Advisory. This session will focus on Social Media - Does it Pay to be "Liked"? The more sessions you attend, the greater chance of winning a FLAT SCREEN TV!!

Prom Visitor Forms are available in the front office.
Prom is April 25th!!
 
The junior class needs workers for the concession stand for the boys' basketball game SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH.  Sign up in Mr. Higgins' room, room 201. All popcorn workers need to be at the Fieldhouse at 4:30 and all other workers need to be there at 5:30.

There will be a student council meeting on Wednesday, February 12th in the Lecture Hall during I.E. period.

THURSDAY IS FTA VALENTINE DONUT DAY!!
If you want to make a special order for YOUR sweetie, just give your order to any FTA member and it will be here for them Thursday morning.

The lunch menu for WEDNESDAY is fiestada pizza with lettuce and cheese, fruit, and milk.

ATTENTION SENIORS: THE GREEN & WHITE VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Due to delays and closings in the past month, the Green & White Scholarship deadline has been extended to February 13th. If you do not have an application, stop in the Guidance Office and ask for one. There is still time!!

Information is available in the Guidance Office for the following scholarships:
*  CHAMP & CHAMP WOEF
*  Celina Rotary Club
*  Celina Athletic Booster Club
*  Celina Firefighters and Volunteer Firefighters

 
CONGRATULATIONS HANNAH STROTH!!
Hannah, a senior at CHS, was one of approximately 160 singers to be chosen from over 800 applicants to perform in the Ohio Music Education Association All State Honor Choir.  WAY TO GO HANNAH...WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!

Thursday, February 13th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Who needs to jump in Mirror Lake, when Grand Lake is right here in town!! Please join us at the Polar Plunge on March 1st at the Celina Moose Lodge. This year, the area highschool with the most participation will win $1,000!! Plungers are encouraged to wear costumes and must raise a minimum of $50 in order to be considered a participant. you will also be given a long sleeve shirt and the Moose provides a reception, with free food, for all Plungers after the frigid jump. To sweeten the deal, LISTEN UP.....if CHS gets 15 official participants, Mr. Foulkes has agreed to Plunge!! If we get 25, Mr. Metz will be joining him!! If you are at all interested, please see Mrs. Ball asap for sign up and fundraising materials.

Adults admission is $3.00
Students admission is $2.00 

ATTENTION TRACK ATHLETES...MANDATORY informational meetings for the upcoming spring track season will be held:  Tuesday, February 18th for the BOYS and Wednesday, February 19th for the GIRLS.  Both meetings will be held in the Lecture Hall at 2:30 and will be over by 3:15.  Make plans to attend and bring a pen/pencil.  Questions....contact Coach Otten.

ATTENTION SENIORS: If you have ordered your Class of 2014 Senior shirt then we need you to provide your signature so they can be printed on the back of the shirts. Please stop by the office TODAY or next week and see Kassie so we can get your signature and have the shirts printed. If you did not order a Class of 2014 Senior shirt and would still like to do so, order forms are available in the main office. OVISCO plans to have our shirts ready towards the end of this month. GET YOUR SIGNATURES IN AND ORDER NOW!!

IFlirtz have been passed out to advisory rooms and will be picked up TODAY, so fill yours out!! Early release or tri-star students need to stop by their advisory rooms to fill theirs out by TODAY!  You must fill them out in your advisory room. You may not take them home.

ATTENTION SCHOLASTIC TEAM....The sign-up sheet for Saturday's tourney at Van Wert is on the bulletin board in Mr. Hoover's room. Please stop by and sign it if you are wishing to compete.

The lunch menu for FRIDAY is Mexican Bar:  nachos, burrito, taco with lettuce and cheese, refried beans, fruit, and milk OR a cheeseburger sandwich.

Pre-sale tickets for BOYS BASKETBALL will be sold every Thursday and Friday in the High School Athletic Office from 10:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Student pre-sale tickets are $4.00. Adult pre-sale tickets are $6.00. All general admission tickets will be $6.00 at the door.

ATTENTION ALL GIRLS LOOKING TO PLAY SOFTBALL THIS SPRING: There will be a MANDATORY MEETING on FRIDAY, February 7th at 2:00 p.m. in the high school Lecture Hall.

ATTENTION SENIORS: AAA School Safety Patrol Grant Award Program
This program is open to high school seniors who once served as a member of a AAA School Safety Patrol team.
Due to numerous school delays and closings in the past month, the AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant deadline has been extended. Materials must now be postmarked by Tuesday, March 4th.

REMINDER...MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY IS MONDAY, JANUARY 20TH, SO THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL!!

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO DONATED ITEMS TO THE FOOD AND CLOTHING PANTRY DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2013. Your donation helped serve 902 families involving 2,475 individuals during the month in need of food and personal care items. The Clothing Pantry served 222 families involving 722 individuals with 1,506 articles of clothing during the month of November. Your donations are always appreciated!! :)

The Scholastic Team is selling hot chocolate every morning before school in the Commons area. Cost is $1.00. You add all the marshmallows or whipped cream you want. Buy one for yourself or a friend.

There will be a short MANDATORY meeting TODAY in the gym during I/E for all of those planning on playing BASEBALL this spring. Report to Advisory first for attendance.

GUIDANCE

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND TRISTAR....Applications are due TUESDAY, January 21st by 9 a.m. Even though the applications say January 22nd, we will need time to complete them before they go to TriStar. There is no school on Monday, so you need to take care of this this week. Applications may be picked up in the Guidance Office.
